The French River Fire Department has two stations that service the Municipality of French River. Station 1 is located at 7 Vercheres Street in Noelville, Ontario and Station 2 is located at 796 Hwy 64 in Alban, Ontario.

Our territory consists of 734 square km of coverage area ranging from Hwy 69-N at the Murdock River to Hwy 69-S at the Pickeral River in the north and south, and from Wolseley Bay and
the West Arm Bridge to Hwy 69 in the east and west.

There are approximately 2700 permanent residents within this coverage area and the seasonal population is estimated to be between 5300 and 8000 during the summer months.

Our members, approximately 50 in all, are entirely volunteer based. Firefighters attend regular training and meeting sessions
every two weeks and provide the following services for their community:

Structural Fire Suppresion
Grass Fires
Assisting the MNR with Bush and Forest Fires
Vehicle Fires and Occupant Extrication
Ice Water Rescue
Medial Aid Assistance
Search and Rescue Assistance
Maintaining Fire Prevention and Education Programs
Perform Inspections of Rental Units, Tourist Camps, etc.
Mutual Aid Agreements with Neighboring Municipal Fire Departments
